New Job

Well I finally have an announcement I've been hoping to make for a few weeks. Today, I accepted a new job! I'm going to work for the Federal Public Defender's Office. As a federal job, it has great benefits and more time off (which is the most important thing to me - more time!). I start August 18.

I've worked in the area of civil litigation for the last 24 years, so this will be something completely different. I love learning new things and am excited to get started.

Although I'm glad for the new job, I am sad to be leaving the old one. I've only been there for two and a half years, but I felt at home from the first day. I have made good friends there, and they are like family. In addition, my main boss is one of my favorite attorneys I have ever worked with. We clicked immediately and worked really well together. I am going to miss working for her.

But it's time to start a new chapter in my professional life, and I am looking forward to it very much.

  1. Congratulations, Ms. Jamie! I recently took a new job, involving relocation and leaving a lot of colleagues and friends behind, and I have to say that 2 months later I'm still thrilled with it! I'm sure it'll work out the same way for you.
