Well I finally have an announcement I've been hoping to make for a few weeks. Today, I accepted a new job! I'm going to work for the Federal Public Defender's Office. As a federal job, it has great benefits and more time off (which is the most important thing to me - more time!). I start August 18.
I've worked in the area of civil litigation for the last 24 years, so this will be something completely different. I love learning new things and am excited to get started.
Although I'm glad for the new job, I am sad to be leaving the old one. I've only been there for two and a half years, but I felt at home from the first day. I have made good friends there, and they are like family. In addition, my main boss is one of my favorite attorneys I have ever worked with. We clicked immediately and worked really well together. I am going to miss working for her.
But it's time to start a new chapter in my professional life, and I am looking forward to it very much.

GO JAMIE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ms. Jamie! I recently took a new job, involving relocation and leaving a lot of colleagues and friends behind, and I have to say that 2 months later I'm still thrilled with it! I'm sure it'll work out the same way for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new job. Working for the PD's Office should be very interesting!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! One of my favorite fortune cookies said "Big journeys begin with a single step". Hope this is a great journey for you :)
