I have been taking Sudafed and Mucinex for years to deal with sinus and ear problems that started in 2003 after my office suffered a flood. I believe our office was contaminated with mold (water sat in the elevator shaft for two weeks!) and that started the whole thing.
Anyway, I found a homeopathic herbal remedy on Lucky Vitamin that is working for me!! I have stopped taking Sudafed altogether (except when I ran out of the other stuff briefly) and only take Mucinex once or twice a week. I am so happy about this I can't tell you. I also have started sleeping much better (I did not realize how much the Sudafed was affecting my sleep!). I've been taking this for 3 or 4 weeks now.
I had been taking Allegra D (just because it's easier getting Sudafed that way - it's hard to find real Sudafed around here because it's always sold out) and the new product is definitely cheaper than the Allegra D. I hope I don't have to take it forever.
The product I've been taking is Clear Sinus & Ear by Clear Products. So far Lucky Vitamin has the best price I've found for it ($8.65):

I have to smuggle Mucinex-D into Australia-- well they let you bring it in, but smuggling sounded more fun. They don't have it or an equivalent here!
ReplyDeleteI used to take Zyrtec everyday, and since moving to Australia a year ago my allergies disappeared-- UNTIL a few weeks ago-- they're back with a vengence and I am so sad about that.
Now cause I let it spiral out of control-- I have pneumonia! This sucks.
Found you thru my cousin's blog... The girl who wished she was Australian--
I'm actually the girl who's almost Australian.
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you are feeling better soon!! I actually did get pneumonia the first year this all started - ugh. And my doctor only x-rayed me because my husband insisted my symptoms indicated pneumonia - she didn't think I had it and just did it to humor me!
ReplyDeleteI knew you were Dina's cousin and have just started following your blog as well :). It's nice to "meet" you!
